My study program

This year has been quite the learning experience. We started with online classes and, 10 months later, now we have a hybrid mix adding presenciality. Things have improved, for the most part, since last year´s performance. But there's still some factors that have been poorly managed.   This is my freshman year, so I'll talk about the online method implemented for the arrival of new students. We have teoric and practical subjects throughout the week. Workshop is our only practical subject for now, it has eleven hours in total, meanwhile teoric subjects have twelve. This semester (september-december) we had the option of choosing between two modes, a hybrid workshop and a full online one. I chose the hybrid, monday and wednesday in the faculty, friday online. It was a simple procedure, but still, classmates had problems with the system that managed the mode assignment. This “system” has been known for its underwhelming results when someone wants to take their respective subjects....

Time travel to the future

Futuristic topics often mix with science fiction, the downfall of humanity, distopics worlds guided by greed. The only thing that's true, for me, is that the future is uncertain. Time is unpredictable, But what if we could foresee things? If given the chance to travel to the future, I´d like to visit my relatives and friends, just to know if everything it's okay. That being said, I want to know if any accidents had occurred during those years I skipped into the future. Why? With that information I could “prevent” those accidents in my present, be ready for them. Regarding the amount of time, 10 years into the future it's a good number. I'd stay for a couple of days just to gather information, then I'd leave. I don't like the idea of staying for too long, i´d just focus on my task and nothing else, I don't want to know about my future either, I prefer to keep it that way. Too much information may spoil some events and others, it´s something you can´t predict ...

Future job

If I had the possibility to get any job I wanted, I´d chose to be a concept artist. What does it mean? Concept Art is one of Art´s many branches. It focuses on guiding the visual aspect of audiovisual projects, such as series, movies, videogames, etc. Through solving narrative and esthetic problems the product must show the spectator visual information about the subcontext of the story. Its quite the spectacle when, years later, the concept art of a certain project is published. From the initial sketches to the final designs, Its all a delight for the eyes. The creative environment one must exercise requires adaptation, a lot of try and error, for this reason It´s recommended changing between working outdoors and indoor. Personally I´d do the same, many times one must search for inspiration beyond of what the screen gives. That can be found outside, in a park, in a subwey station, who knows? That being said, if given the chance, I´d like to travel to other countrys only under studies c...

Studies during the pandemic

Its been two years since the beginning of the pandemic. How much has change in the last couple of years? Its certainly overwhelming to think about how we got through an entire year from our homes, without too much movilization. So, as students, how have we managed up to this day? Now that we´re with remote clases, all the essence of being in the moment, the dinamic between one and another its all lost. We´re behind a screen the majority of the day, we don´t see eachother´s faces. But we are still a community, we share time the whole week. Personally I try to help my classmates with what can I and with the teachers its the same thing. In these difficult times the least whe can do is to help with what we can. Allthough online classes can have their disadvantages, It can provide some positive points, there´s no money spent in transportation, you are literally next to your bead and some times one can manage to take breakfast and lunch at a decent time. But there´s always some unpredictable...

The music I like

Music can be part of our daily routine, some listen it to relax, to feel motivated or just simply to enjoy it. Nowadays we can find a vast variety of genres, each one of them having a unique vision, history and most importantly, sound.    My favourite kind of music is funk rock. This genre is primarily known by its catchy guitar riffs, the protagonism given to the bass and the powerful drums. Some known groups are Rage Against The Machine, Chancho en piedra, Fishbone, funkadelic. There is this group called Red Hot Chili Peppers wich I consider one of my fabourite bands. The band members are Anthony kiedis (vocalist), Chad Smith (drums), Flea (bass) and the returning John Frusciante  (guitar). I got to know them by my cousin. It happened on a family reunion, meanwhile the food was being cooked we were watching some videos at his pc. All of a sudden he goes, “hey, have yo heard this song?” He proceeded to show me the video clip for Can´t stop , one of the peppers song. I w...

Holidays

The best moments are shared with family or friends. When I was little I didn’t enjoyed going on trips with my family, to be away of my home, friends, of what I knew. Now a days I regret not have appreciated those moments when I should have. They are unforgettable, unique memories, which you can cherish forever and ever.   On my last family trip I got to know the north of Chile , Coquimbo . We made the trip the 7 th  and returned the 14 th  of February, present year. On the 7 th my parents and I got up early in the morning, six or seven am, got ready and left to pick up my cousin and aunt, making a total of five people. On that time Holiday´s transport regulations regarding the pandemic where just announced, therefor, for each family member we had to fill a paper with our health details in order to leave the city. After six long hours, some stops, plus the struggle that was filling the papers, we arrived on our relative´s apartment, and damn was it worth it. Th...
