The music I like

Music can be part of our daily routine, some listen it to relax, to feel motivated or just simply to enjoy it. Nowadays we can find a vast variety of genres, each one of them having a unique vision, history and most importantly, sound.

My favourite kind of music is funk rock. This genre is primarily known by its catchy guitar riffs, the protagonism given to the bass and the powerful drums. Some known groups are Rage Against The Machine, Chancho en piedra, Fishbone, funkadelic. There is this group called Red Hot Chili Peppers wich I consider one of my fabourite bands. The band members are Anthony kiedis (vocalist), Chad Smith (drums), Flea (bass) and the returning John Frusciante  (guitar).

I got to know them by my cousin. It happened on a family reunion, meanwhile the food was being cooked we were watching some videos at his pc. All of a sudden he goes, “hey, have yo heard this song?” He proceeded to show me the video clip for Can´t stop, one of the peppers song. I was blown away, at fourteen years old I had never listen to something like that. So, from that day foward I carried them in my mp3. Later on I found their old albums, Mother´s Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik. I Liked the energetic feel throughout Mother´s Milk, the same energy was kept on Blood Sugar Sex Magik, adding some calm melodies into the mix, like Under the bridge and I could have lied. One of my favourite songs belongs to Mother´s Milk, the name is Higher ground and its a cover of a song named the same by Stevie Wonder. When I listen to these albums in particular I feel the urge to move, to do something to channel the energy they send thought the lyrics and the riffs. Now a days the band is still active and rocking. On the 24th of september, after 4 long years, they announced a world tour for next year! Some say this tour may be linked to the realese of a new album? Who knows, if they ever visit Chile I´d really like to see them.

English language challenges

In the last 3 months I´ve been in my last English course. The learning process of a new language can be intimidating at first, but as you go down the road it can mean so much more than just a “subject” you have to pass.  Obi-Wan Kenobi During my last four years of highschool I had some activities related to this subject, they were the reason why English became appealing to me. By the beginning of twenty-twenty I had finished school and therefore my studies, but then out of the blue came the pandemic. I took the year off, hoping covid would last for a few weeks, but well, we all know how it ended. Through the year I tried to maintain the knowledge I gained from the school's English courses, but I slowly began to lose interest. I didn't feel motivated, but I still read and watched things from time to time. This year things got better in a way, entering college gave me the push I needed to regain my motivation for my studies, and so I noticed all the time I wasted. Fortunately ad...

Holidays

The best moments are shared with family or friends. When I was little I didn’t enjoyed going on trips with my family, to be away of my home, friends, of what I knew. Now a days I regret not have appreciated those moments when I should have. They are unforgettable, unique memories, which you can cherish forever and ever.   On my last family trip I got to know the north of Chile , Coquimbo . We made the trip the 7 th  and returned the 14 th  of February, present year. On the 7 th my parents and I got up early in the morning, six or seven am, got ready and left to pick up my cousin and aunt, making a total of five people. On that time Holiday´s transport regulations regarding the pandemic where just announced, therefor, for each family member we had to fill a paper with our health details in order to leave the city. After six long hours, some stops, plus the struggle that was filling the papers, we arrived on our relative´s apartment, and damn was it worth it. Th...

Iceland

If I had enough money and time, where would I go? That’s something I ask myself whenever I see a photo of an airplane or a train. To travel is to experience something new, different, maybe to get a little pause to rest from your weekly routine.
